University Rover Challenge 2025 Wrap-Up Video

Each year, the Mars Society's University Rover Challenge features an elite field of university teams from all over the world vying to build the world's best student-designed Mars Rover. After 3 days of incredible competition, the 2025 ‪@UnivRoverChallenge‬ (URC) crowned a new champion, the Missouri S&T Mars Rover Design Team, from the ‪@MissouriSandT‬ University of Science and Technology in the United States. This was their second championship, having previously won in 2017. Team Mountaineers, from ‪@WestVirginiaU‬ (USA), finished in second place, their third consecutive podium finish. Northeastern Mars Rover Team, from ‪@Northeastern‬ University (USA) finished in third place, their first ever podium finish. 1. Mars Rover Design Team (Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA) - 412.27 points 2. Team Mountaineers (West Virginia University, USA) - 396.17 points 3. Northeastern Mars Rover Team (Northeastern University, USA) - 362.42 points A record 114 teams from 15 countries began the year competing in URC2025. In March, the top 38 teams were invited to compete in the URC2025 Finals, which concluded May 31, 2025 at the MDRS - Mars Desert Research Station in Utah. For URC, teams of college students design and build the next generation of Mars rover that will one day work alongside astronauts exploring the Red Planet. Teams and their rovers compete in 4 separate missions (Science, Delivery, Equipment Servicing, and Autonomous Navigation Missions). Mission scores are combined with scores from an earlier design review for the final standings. The final scores for all 38 finalists are available at https://urc.marssociety.org/home/abou... URC and ‪@TheMarsSociety‬ would also like to thank our incredible sponsors: ProtoSpace Mfg (Protocase), the Nissan Advanced Technology Center - Silicon Valley, the KISS Institute for Practical Robotics (Botball Educational Robotics Program), MDA Space, and Astrolab! https://urc.marssociety.org/home/urc-...
