In Ukraine, on July 16, the law on mentoring came into force. This is a form of voluntary support for a child or young person under 23 years of age by an adult, who becomes a stable point of support for them outside the family or institution. For the first time, the organization of mentoring has been defined as a separate social service at the legislative level. It involves the search and mutual selection of candidates for mentors, their training, as well as subsequent support and supervision. Olena Furd, a resident of Mukachevo, has already gone through this procedure, becoming a mentor for a 14-year-old girl from an orphanage.
