Silencing the Noise: New Insights Into Tinnitus (Presented by AOS and KOS)

The American Otological Society is proud to partner with the Korean Otological Society to present a state of the art webinar on the evaluation and management of tinnitus. Tinnitus can be an extremely bothersome symptom to have, and a very challenging symptom to treat – there is no cure – but there is new research and new therapeutics being developed to help the millions of patients suffering with tinnitus. This webinar will explore the latest research and most exciting new strategies to treat that annoying noise. ----------- Can we “see” tinnitus in the brain? Dr. Jae-Jin Song from Seoul National University will provide an overview of the neuroscience of tinnitus arguing that tinnitus is a brain phenomenon and not an ear product. Can we control tinnitus by moving the head or neck? Dr. Greg Basura from the University of Pittsburgh will discuss his research that attempts to quantify or objectify tinnitus in the human brain that changes with head, neck, and jaw movements. What are the most up-to-date treatments for tinnitus? Dr. Jae-Jun Song from Korea University will present the latest therapies for tinnitus, including digital and electroceutical. How can otologists partner with audiologists to better treat tinnitus?
