RIZZUTI, IL GENIO CHE HA REINVENTATO LA SCULTURA | FUORIMEDIA
"I've been a shepherd since I was a child because my father wanted it that way. I didn't even complete elementary school. Later, I began studying again, eventually becoming a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo." We meet Sicilian sculptor Salvatore Rizzuti. An extraordinary journey through the works and words of one of the greatest contemporary sculptors. A sculptor admired by Leonardo Sciascia for his extraordinary artistic mastery but also for his human humility. A unique portrait enriched by beautiful images of the magnificent works created by the master from Caltabellotta, in the province of Agrigento. His sculptures are admired and studied worldwide and draw inspiration from great artists such as Michelangelo and Piero della Francesca, yet he manages to forge a highly original path between classicism and provocation. His reliving the history of sculpture is natural, immediate, without filters or patterns; one might say he is guided by the material, rather than by memory, or even by an ancestral, remote memory. "There is something religious, votive in Rizzuti's work: as if the forms, influenced by the material, the grain, the knots, and the colors of the wood and stone, were born from a state of religious solitude and communion and formulated as great unanswered questions." #fuoririga #fuorimedia #art Join us and share our videos: if you like our work, subscribe to the channel and click the bell to be notified of every new video.
