PDF: https://jorisamann.com/ressources-gra... In music, each chord in a key plays an emotional role. Rather than seeing scale degrees as simple numbers or frets to memorize, I offer you a different way to experience them. I imagine them as characters or places that tell a story each time you play them. Here's how I see them: 🔑 In a key, chords can be grouped into three main emotional categories: 1. Home 1 (I major): The joyful home, everything is fine, it's the natural starting and ending point. 6 (VI minor): The sad home, a familiar place but tinged with melancholy. 2. Leaving 4 (IV major): Setting off on an adventure, discovering something new, positive movement. 2 (II minor): Leaving because you have to, with a touch of sadness or restraint. 3. Returning 5 (V major): The call of return, the need to come home, to resolve. 3 (III minor): A nostalgic return, as if revisiting a memory. 0:00 Introduction 0:17 The 6 Emotions 5:57 How to Integrate and Recognize Them 10:43 A Little Theory (Just a Little) 14:30 Playing in Other Keys 16:38 What's Next 💡 The idea is to create little stories with these chords to better feel them and train your ear. By repeating this process, you'll gradually be able to anticipate chords by ear, instead of simply guessing them or memorizing them. 🔥 And to go even further, I've prepared a supplementary video on my Patreon about the first solo in Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits. We analyze how he makes the scale degrees audible in his solo. 👉 [patreon.com/JorisAmann](  / jorisamann  ) My guitar gear: https://thmn.to/thocf/hgoyi0wodw My studio gear: https://thmn.to/thocf/zdrkbjsmqi
