“The White Sands New Mexico Footprints” with Michael Ruggeri
In 2021, researchers radio-carboned seeds that were with ancient footprints found at White Sands, New Mexico and concluded the footprints were 21,000 to 23,000 years old. This was a bombshell in the archaeological world. Mike Ruggeri will take you on a journey into all the research at this site up until the present, giving you an update on the controversy and the continued proofs of this claim, as well as the ongoing debate about the problems still associated with these dates. This will be a special presentation to bring Aztlanders an update on what we know so far about these footprints. This is a joint special presentation with the Chicago Archaeological Society. Getting to the bottom of the debate is truly important. Michael Ruggeri is the Moderator of the largest Ancient Americas listserv on the World Wide Web, Aztlan. He is publisher of Mike Ruggeri’s Ancient Americas Magazine online and constantly updating his over 50 web pages on every aspect of the Ancient Americas. He is Professor emeritus of Mexican history and Mesoamerican history at the City Colleges of Chicago.
