CUTTHROAT PASS: Must-do Larch Hike in the North Cascades

Every year in the Cascades there's a 2 week period where the alpine larches turn into a beautiful golden orange color. Each year the timing changes just a little bit, so you have to time it perfectly. The hunt for the larches is called Larch Madness. Cutthroat Pass in the North Cascades is an amazing location to see the larches while they are turning colors. ---------------- Please enjoy the outdoors responsibly. The cat has been let out of the bag for many of these wonderful places, and it is now our responsibility to take care of these areas and not destroy them. While we are sharing the location (I don’t really want to, but the internet already has these locations readily available), our goal is to educate on ways to minimize impact. Follow Leave No Trace principles when you go outdoors, and if a trailhead is packed, then find somewhere else to go. Many of these locations are fragile and can easily be destroyed by our negligence.
