Botswana has officially broken ground on the ambitious P25.5 billion New Botswana City project, one of the country’s largest private-sector-led developments aimed at helping diversify the economy beyond diamonds. Located near Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, the mega project is expected to include hotels, business hubs, residential areas, retail spaces, and the massive ALBADDAD Botswana Global Exhibition and Convention Centre. President Duma Boko says the project could help create thousands of jobs, attract investment, boost tourism, and position Botswana as a regional business and trade hub.
