Hello. Today's video is different from my usual talk videos; it is a video where I vent to you all. Recently, the travel market in Bohol—or rather, the Philippines—or Southeast Asia in general, has been in a terrible state. With the off-season, a confluence of bad factors—such as the war between the U.S. and Iran, volatile exchange rates, economic downturns, and inflation—has raised the barrier to overseas travel, and Bohol is suffering a massive economic blow as a result. Some even say the situation is worse than during the pandemic. Consequently, I have recently been hearing a lot of news about self-employed individuals and business owners like myself in Bohol, as well as many tour guides, who are unable to hold out and are withdrawing. Whenever I hear news that people making a living in Bohol or the Philippines have ultimately decided to leave, it doesn't feel like someone else's problem. I would like to honestly share with you the stress and anxiety I am experiencing as I take the full brunt of Bohol's recent economic downturn.
