Jingle Styles & Materials: The Jingle Dress Chronicles

Part 1: I talk about traditional vs contemporary jingle dance and list the materials you need to make a dress. Lists and links for materials below. .:: DISCLAIMERS ::. NON-TRIBAL PEOPLE: Jingle dresses and jingle dress dancing are highly spiritual and very sacred to many peoples Indigenous to North America. Jingle dress dancing and jingle dresses are CLOSED to non-tribal people. Non-tribal people are invited to watch these tutorials for entertainment and/or education, but please respect our tribal cultures and spiritualities by NOT producing a jingle dress. No teachings or stories about the jingle dress are going to be shared in The Jingle Dress Chronicles. Only practical instruction on how to construct a physical dress are going to be shared. Any prayer and other spiritual practices I use while constructing these dresses will not be shown on camera. If you are interested in learning more about the jingle dress (originating stories and/or spiritual practices) I highly suggest seeking out people within your own community or peers within your tribe. I do not share sacred teachings on this channel because a) people from all tribes consume my content and their tribes may believe different things from Ojibwe and b) my platform is highly visible to culture vultures. .:: MATERIALS ::. *Links with two asterisks are affiliate links.
