Detectorists: how do you deal with trashy fields whilst metal detecting? I’m talking ring pulls, cans, moo tubes… 🗑️ It certainly does 'test your mettle'! In this video I find out what you can learn from trash on historical ground. I’m not a huge fan of old maps to read the land (for a number of reasons I am happy to go into on another vid!) but this trip I really fell back on a map from the 1840s, and it helped me find three really decent objects in challenging conditions.
