What are the Limitations and Criticisms of Person Centered Therapy?
This video describes the theory of Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian Therapy) and criticisms of the theory. In theory, Person-Centered Therapy was developed by Carl Rogers. Person-Centered Therapy is non-directive, positive, and uses the core conditions. The three core conditions are congruence (authenticity, genuineness), accurate empathy, and unconditional positive regard (nonjudgmental stance). Person-Centered Therapy is the “way of being” for a number of counseling modalities.
