Wild Camping at Haughton Green Bothy, Northumberland
We hiked over a short section of the Pennine Way to reach Wark Forest with the intention of exploring the area around Haughtongreen Bothy for a good place to camp. A thunderstorm and downpour nearly made me change plans and stay in the bothy itself but the weather turned out sunny and still- ideal to test out the DD pyramid mesh tent with a tarp above. Not even the midges spoiled the night. A brilliant way to spend the night with 360 degree views and a cool breeze. Marvellous 04:00 arrival at bothy 07:20 Spring water 08:40 Mesh tent set-up 11:45 Shaun's bothy food advice #wildcamping #northumberland #bothy #hadrianswall #campcooking #outdoorlife
