Steelhead Fishing Tippy Dam March 7th 2026

The temperature was in the Mid 50 degree F and there was not many Steelhead caught and there was not a Walleye Caught I fished for ^ hours and only saw on fish hook on and I think the couple of Steelhead and brown trout Caught were hook on in the early morning time usually when there is a warm spell in the mid 50 F there will a lot Steelhead hook ups maybe it was all the rain that kept coming down all day there was still a lot of fishermen out there with a couple of Women out there even in the rain lucky the rain was on and off this early March 7th spring day man did i but on many egg flies and stone Fly patterns and some nice streamers from orange color to small bead eggs I did not even get a hook up there is always next week by the boat ramp near Tippy Dam Michigan on the Manistee River bottom Bouncing eggs and flies for trout can be hard on the fishing arms and it always help to get a bit many they were just biting to light and many I just nit have the fish fly they want to hit the Manistee river water was nice and blue in color and the water still look low next week should be better the Steelhead will run up the river when the water temp hit 39 F so next week or the next week after that the Silver chromes will be running up the river to hit the beds soon get out there while this big trout are still eating and look good on the table fair Big Tim
