He experienced his first close encounter in October 2005—stalked at night and later hearing vocalizations—which convinced him to take the phenomenon seriously and seek out answers in the field. In the fall of 2006, Scott joined the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) after participating in an expedition in the Washington Cascades. Since then, he has completed over 229 (and counting) formal investigations, attended numerous BFRO expeditions across the Cascades, Central Oregon, and Utah, and now organizes and leads annual BFRO outings in Washington. Beyond fieldwork, Scott is a sought-after speaker—sharing “Sasquatch 101” lectures in libraries and at conferences—drawing on nearly two decades of experience documenting sightings, conducting follow-up interviews, and deploying parabolic microphones, trail cameras, and other investigative tools.
