Understanding the Visual Elements - TONE
This video is the fourth in a series about the Visual Elements of Art and Design. Every work of Art & Design contains at least one of these seven Visual Elements (Line, Shape, Tone, Form, Texture, Colour, and Pattern), whether the artist put them there on purpose or not. Better understanding the Visual Elements and how they work together can help artists and designers create more effective works of art/design. This video focuses on the fourth element; Tone. In Art and Design, Tone refers to how light or dark something is. Tone can refer to black, white and the grey tones in between. It can also refer to how light or dark a colour appears.
