It starts with birdsong in the park around Humber Bridge Country Park — dozens of birds, surprisingly peaceful for somewhere so close to one of the largest suspension bridges in the world. Later, as the route approaches St Andrews Dock and the edge of Hull, the distant sound of traffic drifts in — a reminder that the city is waiting.
