Ľudovít Štúr nás chcel pripojiť k Rusku? Pravda, ktorú v škole nehovoria!
Did Ľudovít Štúr really want to unite Slovaks with Russia? His life was not only a story of literary Slovak, but also of politics, revolution, disappointment with the West and a controversial idea of the future of the Slavs. In this documentary video, we follow the entire life of Ľudovít Štúr - from his birth in Uhrovec, his studies in Bratislava and Halle, through the codification of literary Slovak, the Slovak National Newspaper and the revolutionary years, to his last work, Slavism and the World of the Future. Ľudovít Štúr is today perceived mainly as the codifier of literary Slovak and one of the most important figures in Slovak history. However, his political views were significantly more complicated than school textbooks often show us. After being disappointed with the results of the revolution and the attitude of the Western powers, Štúr began to think about whether the future of the Slavic nations should not be linked to Russia. However, it was not a simple plan to "hand Slovakia over to the Russians". Štúr created an idealized image of Russia as the protector of the Slavs and considered a common political and cultural organization of the Slavic world. #ĽudovítŠtúr #SlovakHistory #History In the video you will learn: – where Ľudovít Štúr was born and in what environment did he grow up, – how he became the leader of the young Slovak generation, – why Slovaks needed their own written language, – how Štúrovo Slovak was created, – why was Štúr dismissed from the Bratislava Lyceum, – how the Slovak National Newspaper was created, – what he advocated as a member of the Hungarian Parliament, – what role did he play during the revolution, – why he stopped trusting Vienna and Western politics, – what he wrote in the work Slavism and the World of the Future, – what kind of Russia did he actually imagine, – and why his political vision never became a reality. It is an effort to show Ľudovít Štúr as a real person - with courage, achievements, disappointments, mistakes, and opinions that we must assess critically and in the context of the time today. Write in the comment: Was Štúr's leaning towards Russia an understandable consequence of his times, or a dangerous political mistake?
