The triumph of the human spirit – repairing bonds in a broken world | Mark Rittenberg | TEDxRiga

The most beautiful outcome is the triumph of the human spirit. This is something that Mark Rittenberg has witnessed over his lifetime in difficult situations, from the assassination of a president to the mediation of the Middle East peace process. Mark outlines three steps to make a choice, to actively participate in the reclamation of the human spirit. For over 30 years, Dr. Mark Rittenberg has helped organizations create communities of excellence and empower individuals to become true leaders. He believes that important personal, social, and business problems can be effectively addressed using his Active Communicating methodology. His experience extends around the globe and across cultures and industries, with extensive experience in the Middle East and South Africa. In 2009, he founded the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute, certifying over 300 executive coaches and training over 4,000 executives in authentic leadership, leadership communication, storytelling, coaching and more. Dr. Rittenberg is a Distinguished Teaching Fellow at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business where he received the Earl F. Cheit Award For Excellence In Teaching. He holds a Doctorate in International and Multicultural Education from the University of San Francisco and earned a Master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies in Education from San Francisco State. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
