Tout savoir sur Claudine Talon la première dame du Bénin(1ère partie)

The spouse of the President of the Republic of Benin has no official duties under the President of the Republic according to the Constitution of December 11, 1990. Only a set of customs and practices govern their role in diplomatic practice, their role of representation, patronage, and support of the Head of State in his missions. Since the advent of democratic renewal in 1990 in April 2016, Benin has known Claudine Talon as its fourth First Lady under President Patrice Talon. The First Lady of Benin created a foundation whose goal is to improve the lives of the most vulnerable women and children in this West African country, nestled between Nigeria and Togo. This foundation will operate under the aegis of six fundamental values: solidarity, family, respect for differences, integrity, humility, and efficiency. The Claudine Talon Foundation will adopt a holistic approach to improve the health and social conditions of women and children in Benin. Its main actions will focus on expanding maternal and pediatric health services, improving general hygiene and sanitation conditions, expanding access to quality drinking water, improving nutritional standards, and increasing literacy rates through greater access to education. Activities will include increasing access to HIV testing in pediatric health centers and supporting organizations that care for orphans. It will also address the fight against discrimination against people living with and affected by HIV. Benin has made tremendous progress in its AIDS response in recent years, particularly in reducing mother-to-child transmission of HIV and increasing access to lifesaving antiretroviral drugs. Currently, approximately half of adults living with HIV in Benin have access to treatment. Key populations, however, remain disproportionately affected by HIV. The foundation hopes to end the stigma that prevents people from accessing lifesaving HIV services. . However, it's safe to say that there is a "Claudine Talon style" today. Discreet at will, charming and captivatingly simple, in the almost year since her husband came to power, she has not been accused of any misdeeds, unlike others before her in this position, which is certainly honorary but no less important and demanding. Rather, Claudine Talon is talked about for her social and societal commitment. For her impressive tendency to keep things simple. She dresses simply and chicly, without any extravagance, and this inspires. She also keeps her hair simple, which reinforces her charm. She is understated, and that's bound to be appealing. None of her predecessors in the role had so dedicated themselves to the community, nor distinguished themselves in this way. Certainly, Rosine Soglo, with her NGO VIDOLE, worked to help women in need, particularly when they had multiple mothers in a single gesture. Today, with her "Claudine Talon Foundation," also a first in our country, our First Lady shows herself in tune with today's world. Better still, she transcends gender to embrace the gender dimension. Thus, yes, she is interested in the fate of girls and women, but she extends her action to men as well. Moreover, she is not involved in populist activities with a political slant, for which one might suspect her of being involved in politics. No, Claudine Talon clearly simply wants to impact her world and inspire. One of the hallmarks of her actions is the quest for excellence, particularly in the academic environment, like her husband, who is known for his strong tendency toward meritocracy. As proof, see her recent announcement to establish the Presidential Initiative for the Promotion of Excellence. And speaking of excellence in the academic environment, Claudine Talon's actions are not exclusive; the beneficiaries are chosen objectively based solely on their results. Others close to the family also report in various circles that they privately benefit from the same treatment, which amazes and astounds them. This couple, as we can see, is not intoxicated by power. If all this is true, and we have no reason to doubt it, then we must agree that this couple, through their attitude, intends to revolutionize practices. Let us wish them success.
