While the polar bears weren't swimming on the day we visited, seeing them up close in the Churchill exhibit was still incredible. The underwater viewing tunnel is designed so you can watch polar bears swimming overhead, it's one of the most unique zoo experiences in Canada. Beyond the polar bears, the Assiniboine Park Zoo is full of incredible wildlife, from playful seals showing off to snowy owls and Lumi the Lynx. We also learned the real story behind Winnie the Pooh (yes, she was a polar bear... just kidding, she was a black bear from Winnipeg!). Then we warmed up at The Leaf, Winnipeg's stunning tropical greenhouse and butterfly conservatory.
