In this three part series I am going to teach you how to give your lead playing melodic shape and structure. We will start with the basics, learning what the notes are, where they are and when to play them; building an understanding before working our way up to more sophisticated licks. Today we are going to learn how to play a simple solo over a 12 bar blues chord progression in the key of A. The chord progression uses 3 chords: A7, D7 and E7 and follows a pretty common form.
