Selection from "The Sound of Music" - Skyrock Farm Barton theatre organ
In early April this year I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to visit the collection of the late Bill Nunn at Skyrock Farm for one last chance to see it in its entirety before being sold at auction later in the year. While it will be sad to see this beautiful collection broken up I hope the instruments will pass on to other collectors who will show them to the public and cherish them just like here. My thanks to the family for hosting me during my visit. One instrument that never got to be in the limelight was the spectacular Barton theatre organ, which is hidden in two pipe chambers behind the Hooghuys organ. Here it plays a lengthy selection from "The Sound of Music" through its MIDI system. It's a simple phone recording with not much too see, but great music to enjoy nonetheless.
