Ffestiniog Railway Single Fairlie Taliesin
Ffestiniog Railway Single Fairlie 0-4-4T No. 7 Taliesin Built at Boston Lodge and completed in 1999, as a 'replica' of the original FR Single Fairlie No. 9 (later 7) Taliesin which was built in 1876 and dismantled in 1924, though it is slightly larger to allow for modern design requirements. The locomotive seen is on both the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway both during special events on vintage passenger and freight trains and on service trains. One duty the locomotive is often used for the is the 'early bird' departure during the peak summer timetable, operating the single round trip with a smaller set than used during the main part of the day. www.preservedrailway.co.uk (C) Lee Andrew Davies 2021
