Today we are riding a classic 2-car set of CTA 4000-series "L" cars, featuring CTA 4410 on the west end and CTA 4412 on the east. This video is designed for both the transit historian and the rail-ASMR enthusiast. Listen closely as we depart East Union you’ll hear the distinct "sing" of the trolley pole on the overhead wire, followed by the deep, resonant growl of the traction motors as we pick up speed toward Kishwaukee Grove. We’ll traverse the full length of the IRM mainline, including a short turn at West Switch before returning to the station. Whether you're here for the vintage Chicago transit history or just to relax to the sounds of 1920s steel on rail, this ride has something for everyone.
