【日本最速】超スピード特急の前面展望! 速達型「ソニック」に全区間乗車

August 1, 2020 The Sonic Express is currently the second fastest express train on JR conventional lines and the fastest in Kyushu (distance traveled divided by time required). The first place is the Thunderbird, and the Shinkansen is faster than it, but the driver's cab is blocked off and you cannot see the view in front (Shinkansen trains before the 200 series could do this). The next best train for seeing the view in front is the Wide View Shinano, but it is ranked 18th out of all JR trains, and the Sonic is by far the fastest in terms of low speed. In addition, there is no other means of transportation that allows you to see the view in front while going at this speed (there is a speed limit on the highway), so it is likely to be the fastest means of transportation in Japan with a view in front, but the helicopter route operating in the Izu Islands has not been confirmed. The plan to raise the speed limit on the highway to 120 km/h has not yet been realized. Correction ① Both the 883 and 885 series have a 5 degree inclination angle, and there are no cars that can incline 8 degrees. However, only the JR Hokkaido 285 series adopted a hybrid inclination system (pendulum + air spring) that was supposed to achieve an 8 degree inclination. The 285 series was scrapped without even testing it. ② The Sonic's observation space is called the "Panorama Cabin."
