ULTIMATE KERALA FOOD in Pune | Kerala Cafe

Hello HungryHeads! DISCLAIMER: I did not pay for the food, but all the opinions and views are mine. This is one of the most special and unique meals that I tried on this channel. Kerala Cafe serves sumptuous meals that are made with spices specially flown in from Kerala! The very first Kerala meal we tried was their Surmai Thali. This was a wholesome, nutritious meal, that included a thoran (dry vegetable), Avial (Mix vegetable), Banana Payasam, Kerala special red rice, Sambar, Baby Surmai Fry, Baby Surmai Coconut based Curry and Moru Curry. Next we were served the amazing Pomfret Pollichathu, which was fried and then cooked, wrapped in a banana leaf. One of the most interesting drinks we got to try was the lime Kulukki Sharbat, which was spiced with green chillies but was great for the summer because of the addition of sabja seeds. We ate two different kinds of biryanis. One was the bamboo chicken biryani, which was storng on turmeric. It was very different than the regular biryani. The second was Prawns Kizhi Biryani. This is cooked in a Potli of Banana leaf. The desserts were some of the best I have come across. The coconut jaggery pudding was so flavourful and light and perfect. The Ada Prathman Payasam had sheets of rice soaked in Kerala special Jaggery Payasam. Overall, eating at Kerala Cafe was a wonderul experience especially because of the atmospheric restaurant.
