PERMIS HAUTURIER : Types de cartes marines

Discover my courses and coaching at: https://formations-maritimes.fr/ There are different types of nautical charts, from classic paper charts like the 9999 chart for the Offshore Sailing License, to raster and vector charts, which are increasingly used. Here, we'll look at the advantages and disadvantages of these different types of nautical charts, with some important tips and recommendations for their use, particularly regarding electronic charting. ▬▬▬ CHAPTERS OF THIS VIDEO ▬▬▬ 00:00 - Intro 00:05 - Paper nautical charts 03:29 - Raster nautical charts 04:20 - Vector nautical charts 05:44 - Limitations of vector nautical charts 03:40 - Find my courses at https://formations-maritimes.fr/ ▬▬▬ ABOUT MY OFFSHORE SHIPPING LICENSE TRAINING ▬▬▬ This course allows you to prepare effectively, at your own pace (allow 25 to 30 hours, ideally spread over 4 to 6 weeks), from home, to take the exam as an independent candidate and pass with flying colors. A SHOM 9999 chart, which you can find, for example, here on Amazon: https://amzn.to/33DfuCj. You can also visit a marine supply store (it's best to call ahead to check if they have it in stock). I recommend pinning your map to a 9mm thick piece of plywood measuring 90cm x 120cm. Your exam center will require you to bring a clean map, free of tears, annotations, or erasures, which they will keep in their archives. Using this board will prevent you from having to fold and unfold your map many times (as it has a tendency to tear at the folds). A navigation ruler or protractor (Cras ruler) like this one: https://amzn.to/3rA8Vga or this one: https://amzn.to/36FHjvv Note that most (but not all) exam centers do not accept rulers with a movable part, such as the "Breton protractor" (which I also advise against, as they waste a lot of time). A divider compass like this one: https://amzn.to/36FHjvv and a school compass like this one: https://amzn.to/3nqkYIm A non-programmable calculator like this one: https://amzn.to/36JAsBc You can also take a look at this pack: https://amzn.to/3d4q9ZM See you soon!
