Nordic choir music has a unique pull, it is said to have a mystical sound. Deliberately simplistic musical structures, spiritually open sound spaces and a thematic reference to the tension between culture and nature are frequently recurring characteristics of many compositions from the North. Stefan Parkman, the Swedish chief conductor of the WDR Rundfunkchor, has brought along an exquisite selection from the rich treasure of his home region. In these concerts, the professionals perform together with the award-winning singers of the youth concert choir of the Choir Academy Dortmund.
