As time progresses, he makes some new friends (Kyu, Megu, Kinta & Kazuma) at the academy and solves several puzzling mysteries along with them. But darkness is embedded in his blood... how long can he stay a follower of justice and peace? Soon Ryu and his friends come across cases with the involvement of Meiousei. Ryu gets terrified at this encounter, yet he cannot tell his friends anything because he fears that his friends will desert him once they find out about his true identity. Meiousei wants Ryu to return to them but he is reluctant to come back. As a result, they try to hurt his friends.
