Although I was able to FaceTime my family on Thanksgiving morning, it just wasn’t the same being so separated from them, in a far and unfamiliar place. As I sat at my campsite alone on Thanksgiving evening, I heard a kind voice gingerly say “Hey! We’re cooking up Thanksgiving dinner if you wanna join us in about half an hour.” I couldn't believe my ears and thought surely this man must’ve been talking to someone else. But I was mistaken! The folks camping the next site over genuinely wished to include me in their holiday meal.
