Webinar: Rosas, manhosas ou poderosas?

Roses, cunning or powerful? The female figures in Camões' imagination Webinar held by the School Libraries Network as part of the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of Camões' birth (Camões, Ingenuity and Art). Guest speaker: Filipa Araújo | University of Lisbon Nymphs, goddesses, muses, princesses, queens, mothers, angelic women, "ladies for hire," haughty and treacherous beloveds... Multiple are the female representations that take center stage in the verses of Luís Vaz. This session aims to explore the dialogue between Camões' poetry and the illustrations inspired by it, with the objective of promoting discussion on how Camões painted portraits of diverse categories of the "female breast," challenging the conventions of the time.
