Anchors on firn: T-slot anchor with an ice axe vs. sitting hip belay – Tutorial (13/18) | LAB ICE

The T-slot anchor is ideal on firn, and can be built using an ice axe, ski or backpack. An ice axe, ski or backpack can all be used as a T-slot anchor. For short protection points on steep sections, you can use the sitting hip belay.
