Anne Frank in the Secret Annex Virtual Tour

Virtual tour with Anne Frank in the secret Annex of the Anne Frank House. Anne Frank begins her steps outside the building, on the canal front at 263 Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. She walks through the main entrance and enters the building of the Opekta company. She crosses the ground floor, passing through the dusty warehouse where the company's spice shipments were packed, and continues up the stairs to the upper floors of the front building. When she reaches the first floor, she stands before the famous bookcase. Anne steps through the entrance to the Secret Annex, which was hidden behind the revolving office cabinet. She enters and passes through the Frank family room—the room of Otto, Edith, and Margot—and from there, she continues directly to Anne’s room. In this room, its walls decorated with pictures, she sits at the desk and writes in her diary, located adjacent to the family room. Afterward, Anne goes up to the second floor, where the large living room is located. This is the central space where the two families used to eat together—the Frank family alongside the Van Pels family and Dr. Pfeffer. This large room also served as the bedroom for Auguste and Hermann van Pels. From there, she moves to the adjacent room, which was the room of their son, Peter van Pels, where the entrance to the attic is located. Anne climbs up and concludes the tour in the attic. There, among the wooden beams, she finds her cat, Mortje. She approaches the window and gazes out at the large chestnut tree reflected through the glass—the very tree she wrote about longingly in her diary as a symbol of freedom and nature.
