Thankfully I ended up being very wrong. This summer experience in Texas really opened my eyes to how the real Coast Guard and Military operates on a day-to-day basis. From boardings, to law enforcement, to search and rescue, Coast Guard Stations really do it all, and with complete professionalism. I got to gain tons of exposure into the service and gain valuable training that I will lean on in the future years as an officer.
