Tweetsie Railroad Heritage Weekend 2024: The Yukon Queen Puts on a Show

Thank you to the staff at Tweetsie for putting together an absolute blast of a railfanning event! I had an absolute blast hanging out with fellow train buffs and filming the beautiful locomotives of Blowing Rock. Special thanks to ‪@SCPhotography25‬ for helping me with some of my camera work and for being a joy to hang around. Love you buddy! Some of you may also notice that Locomotive No. 12 was on static display this year along with Coach No. 5. Tweetsie originally planned to have 12 run a special train dressed up in her Shenandoah Central Railroad lettering, which was the excursion 12 originally ran before coming to Tweetsie. However, shortly before the event, it was discovered that the engine had some major deterioration in her firebox that would require some major restorative work, putting her out of commission for the rest of the season. Despite this issues, the staff still managed to put on quite a show, using Locomotive No. 190 to handle the day’s runs as well as the photo special.
