Matthew 7:15-29

Be on your guard against false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly, are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are thorn bushes for gathering grapes? Do thistles blossom with figs? And in the very same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree can only bear bad. A good tree can't bear bad fruit; neither can a bad tree give any good. Every tree that fails to produce good fruit is cut down and thrown in the fire. So, by their fruits you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name? drive out demons in your name? and perform many miracles in your name?’ Then, to them, I will reply, ‘Depart from me, you breakers of the law!’ 'You, I have never known." So, whoever hears my words and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and battered the house. Yet it did not collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. But whoever hears my words, and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
