WE EXPLORED THE RADIO HOUSE: THE BIGGEST ABANDONMENT IN BUCHAREST The Radio House is the building that everyone knows, it has been standing in the center of Bucharest for decades, unfinished, forgotten, and no one is doing anything with it. It was started in 1986 as the National History Museum. Communism fell, the project died with it. There were other attempts after, a mall, a commercial complex, all of which stopped. The 2008 crisis buried the last plan. What remains: a colossal concrete structure, huge hallways, unfinished floors, basements, and views over the entire city from above. We explored it from the bottom to the top.
