We left Los Angeles before sunrise, a small group of customs heading east toward Kansas. Along the way we introduce the cars making the trip, the stories behind them, and the people who built them. Desert highways, golden light, late-night motel stops on Route 66 — the road becomes part of the story. The journey ends at Dennis McPhail’s Artist-at-Large Tattoo Studio, where the foundation for Kustomville is being laid alongside the Beatnick’s Car Club. Before the show. Before the crowds.
