Final Fantasy VII (PSX\PC) - 'Flowers Blooming in the Church' Cover Ft. Robert Oetomo
Are you pumped for the FF7 remake? I am! (please Square-Enix don't ruin it) This track is actually the first version of Aeris' theme that the player hears in the game. I actually prefer it to Aeris' proper theme - there's something lovely about the way it captures light streaming in through the broken roof of a church. For this track I jumped on clarinet (actually my main instrument, though I very rarely play it for covers) and worked again with Robert Oetomo on vibraphone. Robert is a tremendously talented composer and percussionist; his channel ( / robertoetomo ) is worth checking out if you're into very fine marimba playing! In this recording I played on a Buffet Festival Bb clarinet, with Vandoren B40 mouthpiece, BG L4SR ligature, and Vandoren 3.5 V12 reed. Rob played a Musser M48 Gold Pro-Traveler Vibraphone with ABC Percussion Pro 1 Ruud Wiener mallets. Audio editing, mastering, and reverb done in Audacity. Apologies for the poor green-screening quality in this one (especially noticeable in Rob's window) - it's an unfortunate artifact of recording in a venue where I can't adjust lighting!
