WHEN YOU FINISH SAVING THE WORLD is good… and also bad | Commentary Highlights

So I forced Jonathan to watch a movie that I watched a few months back starring Julianne Moore as the world's most overbearing and stalker-esque mom, and Finn Wolfhard as the world's most violently rude son. This movie is good... and bad. There are elements in this movie that absolutely work for it, and there are elements that absolutely do not, which makes for an overall strange directorial debut from Jesse Eisenberg. Listen, the cinematography is good, and the performances are solid, but it really feels like something is missing in this movie and I think it was a third act that could have brought it up a few notches but hey, that's just me.
