Bob J. Richardson Animator Reel

Scenes (PRESUMABLY) animated by animator/director/storyboarder Bob J. Richardson. Defying the expectations of limited animation, Richardson’s animation is bright and solidly constructed. Spaced in an almost rhythmic tempo, giving his scenes considerable personality. His scenes grab your attention, even stacked next to the seasoned veterans he’d work next to. While his acting can sometimes come off as repetitive, his attention to detail and willingness to embellish his work demonstrates his training under Disney legends Ward Kimball and Frank Thomas. DePatie-Freleng was the studio he mostly called his home but he would move on to DFE’s successor, directing numerous projects at Marvel Productions. Even serving as the supervising producer on the 1994 “Spider-Man: The Animated Series”. Writer/producer John Cawley described Richardson as “one of the old-time perfectionists” admiring his eye for quality and hunger to foster new talents and technologies.
