With over 5 km and 500 vendors, you’ll find everything you have ever wanted and more. I’ll be taking you through the stands to discover everything from 19th-century oil paintings to antique faience platters to rare blue and white porcelain. Join me for a full day of flea market hunting at the legendary Grande Brocante de Chambord, one of the largest and most famous annual flea markets in France. Nestled right on the historic grounds of the iconic Château de Chambord in the Loire Valley, this massive event of 5 km and 500 exhibitors is a dream destination for lovers of French country decor, vintage interior styling, and cottagecore aesthetics. In this French brocante vlog, we are hunting for: Antique French Pottery & Ironstone: Spotting stamps like Sarreguemines, Digoin, and Terre de Fer. Vintage Kitchenware: Timeless French café au lait bowls, rustic copper molds, and traditional breadboards. Old-World Art: Finding moody mid-century floral oil paintings and giltwood frames. Chateau Style Inspiration: How to style authentic European antiques in a modern home. Grande Brocante de Chambord: Essential Sourcing Tips The entrance is free. Public Transport is Impossible: Parking: You have free parking on the fields surrounding the chateau, but the walk to the market can be between 15 and 30 minutes walk. Do not make the mistake of parking in the chateau's official parking, as you will pay the usual daily parking fee. The Cash Strategy Cash is King: Sellers will rarely accept card and cash is your best tool for negotiation and securing a better deal. Be Prepared: There are no ATMs nearby so bring anywhere from €50 to €500 depending on your hunt. High-end 19th-century pieces move fast. Etiquette & The Art of the Deal The French Greeting: Always start with a "Bonjour." It is the most important rule of the market. Local Phrases: Ask for prices using "C’est combien?" or the more local "Ça fait combien?" and always finish with a "Merci." Bargaining: It is expected! If a piece is €50, suggest €30. Most vendors are happy to meet you in the middle to find a price that works for both of you. If you love French/European interiors, brocante markets, antiques, and timeless home décor, you’ll feel right at home here.
