Homemade 78 Record Player
Just a little video displaying the functions on my homemade 78 record player. The wood was built from wood at Lowe's, then stained. Acoustic reproduction is a simple angled board deep in the machine near the exit sound hole underneath the end of the tone arm. Cost about 100 dollars to build, including the mechanism which was bought damaged off eBay. The machine was removed from a cheaply-made 1920s Phonola Portable record player and repaired with a new spring (how difficult it was to insert!).
