Puthuppally Perunnal | Kottayam
For more info: https://www.keralatourism.org/event/p... Date: 7 May, 2026 Established in 1557 as a small chapel dedicated to St. Mary, Puthuppally Church is among the oldest and most revered in the Malankara Orthodox tradition. A key highlight of its festival is the ‘raza’ procession, where a sacred golden cross is carried from the church to Puthuppally junction. The event is marked by colorful ceremonial umbrellas, musical bands, and crosses crafted from wood, silver, and gold, creating a striking visual spectacle. A traditional feast called “sadya,” served on banana leaves, reflects the spirit of unity and hospitality. Devotees also gather to pray and make offerings to St. George, seeking blessings for health, prosperity, and protection. #PuthuppallyChurch #KeralaCulture #ChurchFestival #RazaProcession #Kottayam #StGeorge #KeralaTraditions You can subscribe to our channel here: / @keralatourism Visit https://www.keralatourism.org/ for the latest updates on Kerala
