To speak of Tom Gabriel Warrior is to speak of one of the most important figures in metal and the immense influence he has had through his bands, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, and Triptykon. Hailing from Switzerland, a country that often goes unnoticed when recounting the history and emergence of metal in the 1980s, he is a true icon. Tom Warrior and Triptykon are more active than ever and are coming to Colombia for the first time, invited by the Grita Festival to be part of its 2025 lineup. In an exclusive interview for Sonido Libre, in partnership with the Festival, we discussed their upcoming performance, the experience of recording with German rapper Romano, the release of his eponymous guitar pedal, the influence of Black Sabbath during his adolescence, and the recent tragic death of Tomas Lindberg, vocalist of the Swedish band At The Gates.
