Meter: 8.7.8.7.12.8.7 Verse 1 Go to the world, preach my gospel, Get the world to turn to me; Preach the gospel as I taught you, Preach it raw and dilute not; Proclaim it, proclaim it, let all around you know, That it is in Christ we have rest; Come now and be whole indeed. Verse 2 Word of God is salt, sweet, bitter, Reaching all as God purposed; When it's salty, when it's so sweet, When it's bitter don't complain; Allow it, allow it, allow it do its work, For the Word will heal and restore; Broken heart made whole again. Verse 3 When the bitter word confounds you, When your heart would rather flee; Stay and let the sharp word finish, All its saving work in thee; Receive it, receive it, the blade that cuts to heal, For the same Word breaking apart; Is the Word that makes you whole. Verse 4 Do not hold back truth or soften, Preach it raw as I have said; Some will welcome, some will stumble, Let not fear control your tread; Proclaim it, proclaim it, the gospel to all ears, For the Word that pierces heals too; Trust the harvest, do not fear. Verse 5 Go ye therefore, fear no backlash, Every creature, every land; Preach the gospel raw and simple, Leave the outcome in My hand; Proclaim it, proclaim it, let all around you know, That it is in Christ we have rest; Come now, whosoever will.
