BMW Z4 E85 Speaker Upgrade - Door Speaker Replacement & Grill Refresh

Upgrading the sound system in my BMW Z4 E85 with new door speakers! In this video, I replace the front door speakers, test the audio setup, and refresh the tweeter and speaker grills with a clean paint job. A simple DIY that makes a huge difference in sound. At some point I will probably replace the radio also. If you’re restoring or maintaining a BMW Z4, this speaker replacement is a great beginner-friendly upgrade. I replaced the door speakers with Kenwood KFC-1066S 4" 2-way speakers, a budget speaker that has more clarity, mids and highs than the factory speakers. The rest of the speakers are working properly so no need to replace them at this time. My Z4 came with (4) woofers on the kick panels and behind the seats (lower), four 4" mid-high speakers on the doors and behind the seats (high), two tweeters on the A pillar. There is not need to touch the airbag wiring or connectors, but be safe and disconnect your battery from the positive post.
