I should probably mention that there were in fact two Norman Wilkinsons working in Britain as illustrators in the same period. So if you come across a few decidedly more romantic images attributed to that name they shouldn’t be confused with our subject at hand. This one, as you’ll see, devoted himself to a life of creating scenic images as both art and illustration of land and seascapes. Definitely among the lesser known of the subjects I’ve tackled so far, and as far as I’m concerned unjustly so.
