No Road to This Valley of Swat | Journey to Izmis Meadows

Deep in the mountains of Swat Valley lies a remote and rarely explored place, Izmis Meadows. Our journey started from Utror. Jeep track starts right after Utror main bazar. The jeep track was nothing like we expected. It was dangerous, rough with multiple water crossings and continuous gain in elevation. This journey through dense forest and deep into an unknown valley finally took us to the beautiful meadows of Izmis a very lesser known place of Utror and Swat valley. Jeep ride from Utror bazar took around 2.5 hours before we reached the first lush meadows. Later we understood that reaching the meadows was only the beginning of our adventure. From meadows # 01, Jeep took us a little farther and finally dropped to let us walk on the jeep track reason being the dangerous turns and steep falls. This was really a walk to remember. After walking for half an hour, we ended up in meadows # 02, more isolated, more organic with purity every where in everything. Next phase of the journey was by a tractor. Tractor ride in the meadows of Izmis valley was something with a different flavor. There was no road starting from meadows # 02 and tractor kept running on lush green grass and through water stream. The journey by tractor ended up at an incredibly lovely place, may be the meadows # 03 with multiple water stream flowing amid those meadows. This place was next level in organic beauty. There were horses, cows, goats everywhere and luckily we had a chance to witness the newborn calf attempting to stand up and taking first feed. Anyways, these meadows was not our destination but beyond these mountains was our real destination — Izmis Lake.
